Since the announcement that the next Muhammad Ali trophy will be raised by a woman in the super-featherweight division, WBSS has received a stream of positive reactions from all spectra of the boxing and sporting world.
One of the most notable comes from the former heavyweight champ,’The Hayemaker’ David Haye.
“I want to give a big shout out to the World Boxing Super Series,” said Haye adding: “as I’ve heard the news on the females contesting for this prestigious honour and obviously the Muhammad Ali Trophy is up for grabs.”
Haye has described WBSS virtual ambassador Muhammad Ali as ‘too great to be humble’ and a fighter he tried to emulate after watching hours of fight footage of The Greatest.
“If there was ever a heavyweight champion who would be proud to present this to the females it is Muhammad Ali himself – his daughter Laila one of the greatest to have ever done it herself. And we have got some amazing female fighters that are gonna be wanting to put their name up there in lights at such a prestigious tournament.
“So, a big shout out to the World Boxing Super Series, and look forward to seeing it happen very soon!”
Announcement on the Season III roster and schedule will be made in due course, in the meantime check the new WBSS webpage and social channels for updates.
