Estrada is living the dream on P4P lists

The Ring and ESPN have updated their pound-for-pound rankings.

December 27th, 2021

December was an exciting month in women’s boxing.

Stars like Katie Taylor, Amanda Serrano, and Seniesa Estrada delivered the goods and displayed their talent and grit in the last month of 2021. Estrada’s movements on the leading P4P lists are most notable.

Estrada (22-0, 9 KOs) went from No. 9 to No. 8 on The Ring’s pound-for-pound list after her fourth-round highlight-reel stoppage of Maria Santizo on 18 December for the World Female Minimum Title. Estrada is No. 1 at both 105 and 108 pounds by The Ring.

Estrada told DAZN this Summer about being among the top pound-for-pound women’s fighters in the world:

“It’s crazy. It’s an indescribable feeling. It’s been my goal and dream since I was a kid to go down as one of the best fighters in history. To be recognized in the pound-for-pound list now is great.”

The impressive win for the 29-year-old American nicknamed ‘Superbad’ also made her move north on ESPN’s pound-for-pound list. From 9 to 6. On that list, Amanda Serrano, boxing’s only seven-division champion, went from 3 to 2 after dominating Miriam Gutierrez and making a statement ahead of a possible mouthwatering clash with Katie Taylor in 2022.

Katie Taylor remains No. 1 on both lists.
