Relikh: I am totally confident of beating Prograis

1st, April 2019

Kiryl Relikh (23-2, 19 KOs), Belarus’ WBA title-holder, has no concerns ahead of facing Regis Prograis (23-0, 19 KOs), the WBC 140lb Diamond champion, in the WBSS super-lightweight semi-final at the Cajundome in Lafayette, LA, USA.

“I am looking forward to the fight and to fight in Lafayette,” said Relikh. “I am totally confident, and I have no concerns whatsoever. Neither about the contest nor about the opponent.”

The Belarusian is a known pressure fighter who also possesses sound technique. He has great power in his hands and especially effective when he goes to his opponent’s body. ‘

Mad Bee’ is also known for living up to his nickname by being able to maintain a high output for twelve rounds. This trademark will also be a factor against Prograis in Lafayette.

“The training camp is going fantastic, and I’m fully focused,” said Relikh who is training under the wings of trainer Chico Rivas in Miami, Fl. “You’ll see, on fight night, just in how good shape I am and how great the preparations have been for this battle.”

Prograis’ trainer Bobby Benton knows exactly what is coming at his boxer on April 27 at the Cajundome.

“We know how tough Relikh is, he is tough as nails, he comes right at you. But I feel 100 % confident ahead of this fight. Regis has got the desire and drive to go all the way and win this tournament,” said Benton.

The sensational doubleheader event on April 27 card also sees WBA champion American-Filipino Nonito Donaire (39-5, 25 KOs) square off with South Africa’s WBO champion Zolani Tete (28-3, 21 KOs) in the 118-pound bantamweight semi-final and a stacked undercard.
