22nd, April 2020

‘Saint’ George Groves vs Jamie Cox was the third Super-Middleweight Semi-Final of Season 1 of the WBSS and will be rebroadcast live tonight at 7pm on World Boxing Super Series Facebook and YouTube.

Eubank Jr. produced a stunning third-round knockout to defeat Turkey’s Avni Yildirim, replayed on WBSS Facebook and YouTube Tuesday, and immediately sent a statement towards Groves following his impressive win.

“I’m here to dominate this tournament,” said Eubank Jr. “I’m sending a message out there that I’m coming. George Groves, get through your next fight so we can give the boxing fans what they want to see.

“I think it’s going to be exactly the same as what we saw tonight. I’m not playing anymore.”

George Groves was the tournament No 1 seed and came into the 168lbs edition of the WBSS with his WBA belt. Cox entered as an underdog and was picked by Groves at the draft in Monaco.

“Jamie’s been fortunate to be part of this process to be gifted a world title shot,” said ‘The Saint’ in the build-up to the quarter-final at the SSE Arena, Wembley on October 14, 2017.

“We haven’t for a second looked past Jamie Cox. I know what he’s about, I know who he is. They believe that they’re ready, I’m not so sure.”

Said Cox: ”I’m going to win. No question about it. I’ve come in this tournament to win. I was the first one chosen and I’m going to make my mark!”
